Return & exchange policy
Lay Diamonds offers a structured return and exchange window for eligible ready-made jewellery. Custom pieces are handled differently.
1. Eligibility window
You may initiate a return or exchange request within 21 days of delivery for eligible ready-made catalogue items, provided the product is unworn, undamaged, and in saleable condition with all original packaging, invoice, certificates, and tags.
2. How to start a return
- Contact us from your account or message us on WhatsApp at +91 90370 76043 with your order number.
- Return authorisation: We will confirm eligibility and share instructions, including whether a return kit will be sent.
- Video while packing: We may ask for a short video of the item being packed securely, shared on WhatsApp within the timeframe we specify, to document condition before pickup.
- Handover: Give the parcel only to our authorised logistics partner. Keep the airway bill (AWB) / proof of handover.
- Quality check: After receipt, the item is inspected (and may be verified with a laboratory where applicable). Refunds or exchanges proceed only after QC passes.
3. Refunds after return
When a return is approved following QC:
- Refunds may be net of courier, insurance, packing, and handling charges we incur.
- Credit is usually processed within 14 business days to the original payment method.
- Items that fail QC (wear, damage, missing components, or tampering) may be shipped back at your cost or held for collection as we advise.
4. Exchanges
Exchanges within 21 days follow the same eligibility rules. QC may take up to about 7 working days. Partial exchanges of a single ornament are not allowed. Promotional or clearance items may be excluded if stated at purchase. Any price difference for a new selection is payable by you; complimentary gifts or vouchers may need to be returned or their value adjusted.
5. Repairs & wear
Normal wear, accidental damage, or stone loosening after delivery are not covered as “returns”. We can advise on repair options where possible. Lay Diamonds does not guarantee against future stone movement; please follow care instructions and periodic servicing.
6. Refusals
We may refuse returns that do not follow these instructions, arrive tampered with, or show signs inconsistent with the original shipment.
7. Law & jurisdiction
Disputes are subject to the laws of India and the courts at Kerala, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights where you live.
